Meet the Choir
Lisa first joined CASN in 2012 and has been an on-and-off member as she has been raising her 5 crazy kiddos! Originally from Boise, ID, she has been a music teacher for several years. She is currently a preschool music instructor for Sound Beginnings. When she gets a spare minute to herself, she loves to crochet, make photo books, and cook. When asked about what she loves most about singing with CASN, she says, “Music touches my spirit in a way nothing else can. CASN feeds my soul. I also love the camaraderie — we laugh a lot!”
Kathryn joined CASN in 2018. Originally from Utah, she is a mom of 4 and has 1 granddaughter. When she is not working as an office manager for a senior service analyst, she enjoys knitting and theater. When asked about CASN, she most enjoys the direction she receives, and the selection of music that they are given to perform.
Yvonne has been a member of CASN since 2015. Raised in Salt Lake City, UT, she works as an assistant librarian in Las Vegas. She is the proud mom of 5 and grandma of 6. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, reading, sewing crafts, and of course, spending time with her sweet grandkids! What she enjoys most about CASN is the spirit that the music invites and what it teaches her.
Eileen has been a member of CASN since 2012. She lives in Henderson and is a mom of 6 kids and a grandma of 6. She loves oil and watercolor painting in her spare time. As a member of CASN, she appreciates Marsha’s wonderful directing and the friendships she has made in the choir.
Alane has been a member of CASN since it began in 2009. Born in Washington, she raised her family in Las Vegas, and is the proud grandma of 22. And a styling grandma at that! When she’s not managing her LulaRoe business, she loves to crochet and make music.
Neca has been a member of CASN since 2010. She lives in Henderson with her family and is the proud mom of 5. Her favorite part of being a member of CASN is singing challenging music with amazing people. When not being an awesome mom and managing the CASN Music Library, she enjoys tatting, playing the piano, running and biking.
Leane has been a member of CASN since it began in 2009. Originally from California, she works as an elementary school teacher for CCSD. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and dancing. When asked what she enjoys most about being part of CASN, she simply says, “Singing!”
Moriah joined CASN in 2018. Originally from Independence, Missouri, she is a genealogist. She loves to read and make preserves in her spare time. She says her favorite part of being a member of CASN is that she grows as a musician, and that it specifically improves her singing abilities.
Jill has been a member of CASN since 2018. She is a busy mom of 4 sons, and has also worked as an elementary school music teacher. She enjoys playing the piano, cooking, playing games and dining out with her family. Her favorite part of CASN is the member unity, and she enjoys being with the wonderful people to blend their voices together.
Brittany joined CASN in 2016. Originally from Sandy, Utah, she is a professional mommy to 4 beautiful kids! She enjoys theater, rock climbing, traveling, playing games, and being with her family and friends. She loves CASN because she can do something she loves and be given a spiritual uplift while doing so.
Jaime has been a member of CASN since 2015. She is a music teacher by profession, currently directing a middle school orchestra program in CCSD. She frequently accompanies CASN on the cello, and is affectionately known by the choir as “cello girl.” Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, Jaime loves CASN because she has found a family among the people she sings with, and she loves getting to create beautiful music in a community that has become her other home.
Melissa (known to the choir as Mel B!) is originally from Cypress, California, and joined CASN in 2017. She is a busy momma to 3 kids, and works as a dental hygienist. She enjoys playing the guitar and the flute, exercising, and of course, playing with her sweet little ones! She says CASN makes her a better musician and that it challenges her.
Gaye joined CASN in its first year. Originally from Salt Lake City, she is a loving grandma to 28 grandkids! She says her favorite part of CASN is the musical instruction that she receives and the spiritual feelings that come with it. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family and golfing.
Laurie has been a member of CASN since it began in 2009. A native of Las Vegas, she is an awesome mom to 6, and grandma to 8. She says she loves CASN because she loves creating beauty with good friends and feeling the spirit as they sing together. She enjoys reading, visiting and sharing meals and conversation with family and friends, watching movies, and most of all, DISNEYLAND!
Dana has been a member of CASN since it began in 2009. She is happily retired and an awesome grandma of 16! Originally from Seattle, Washington, she enjoys interior design, beading and swimming. Her favorite part of CASN is being part of a group where perfection is the goal.
Jane has been a member of CASN since 2015, beginning as an accompanist and later as an alto. She frequently accompanies the choir on the organ as well. She is a busy mom of 4, grandma of 8, and great-grandma of 2, and works as a chiropractic assistant. She enjoys organic gardening and doing family history. Jane says her favorite part of CASN is polishing choral tones.
Nancy joined CASN in 2015. Originally from Flagstaff, Arizona, she is a busy mother of six and grandmother of nine. Nancy is a versatile musician, as she accompanies for several choral organizations and music students. In her free time, she enjoys playing racquetball, reading, and being with her grandchildren. She says CASN feeds her soul, and she loves the quality of musicianship.
Marsha has been a member of CASN since 2009. She was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Las Vegas. She is a beloved stepmom to 6 sons and grandmother to 14 grandchildren. She is a retired librarian and local storyteller. She loves playing with her grandkids, reading and being with family and friends. What she loves most about CASN is the great people, great music, and feeling the spirit.
Johnnie joined CASN in 2019. He is a specialized teaching assistant for CCSD, and is a native of Las Vegas. He enjoys swimming, playing the piano and writing. What he loves most about CCSD is the opportunity to have music in his life every week.
Dan has been a member of CASN for many years. He is a proud dad of three and grandpa of three. He works as an art teacher in Las Vegas, and enjoys playing tennis and pickleball, music appreciation, and doing service in his spare time. He says his favorite part of being a member of CASN is the music, the people, and the parties!
Chad has been a member of CASN since 2013. Originally from Henderson, Nevada, Chad is a busy working dad of four. He loves CASN beause he gets to sing with with talented singers who make him better. He says singing is his peace, and he enjoys rehearsing every week to re-center.
Bryce joined CASN in 2019. Originally from Arizona, Bryce works as an elementary music teacher in CCSD. He says he most enjoys the camaraderie of the members of CASN.
Jason has been a member of CASN since 2015. Originally from Springdale, Utah, Jason is a loving dad of three, and a police officer for Las Vegas Metro. In his spare time, he loves motorcycle riding. Jason says the music of CASN heals his soul.
Shawn has been a member of CASN since 2012. He is an accountant and a fun-loving husband (sorry ladies!) and dad of four boys. He loves being with his family and playing with… well, guns. Originally from Fargo, North Dakota, Shawn says he loves CASN because he gets to sing with such talented people!
Ryan has been a member of CASN since 2012. A native of Las Vegas, he is a high school/college educator. Ryan says being able to share in the joy of music with others is what he loves most about CASN.
Brian has been a member of CASN since 2018. Originally from Las Vegas, he is a dad to four children and grandpa of seven. Brian works as a manager for Standard Plumbing True Value, and enjoys playing with his dogs, fishing and hiking in his spare time. He loves the discipline he learns and the opportunities he has as a member of CASN.
Golden has been a member of CASN since it began in 2009. He works as a real estate developer and is the proud grandpa of 28 grandchildren! A proud Wyoming cowboy, Golden enjoys attending church, playing golf, fishing gardening and being with his family. He loves CASN for the spiritual instruction he receives in the music.
